Before I had my first child, I never believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, talking to other parents about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. Buying organic products means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or less use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and rivers, reduced diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to older children. I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
