Baby Clothes DEARBORN
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 16-10-2009
Before I had my first child, I never believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the latest baby clothes we have bought.
I generally get together with 2 other women, once a week, to find out the latest gossip. We usually meet at LA PITA (which is in DEARBORN, MI) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really interesting as we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic meals from the beginning but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the world and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.
You can buy organic baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Purchasing organic clothes means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, fewer health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.
Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers solely devoted to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
