Before I had my first child, I never believed I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.
