Baby Clothes CRITTENDEN
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 15-06-2008
Long before I had my first child, I had not believed I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to chat about the newest baby outfits we have bought.
I more often than not go out with 3 other parents, once a month, to find out the latest new. We generally meet at B & E Restaurant (which is in CRITTENDEN, KY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly interesting as we talked about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic food from day one but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the US and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.
You can get organic baby outfits online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.
Several retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find companies solely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I am not saying that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
