Baby Clothes CHICAGO

Long before I had my children, I never thought I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mother, talking to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have bought.

I more often than not meet with 3 other women, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at Villa May Pizza (which is in CHICAGO, IL) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last time was particularly eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby organic food from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is produced without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic clothes means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and rivers, reduced diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find companies solely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
