Baby Clothes CHARLOTTE
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 22-03-2008
Before I had my children, I had not imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the most recent baby clothes we have bought.
I generally meet with 3 other parents, once a fortnight, to find out the latest new. We generally meet at Mcdonald's of Mint Hill (which is in CHARLOTTE, NC) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was more eye opening seeing we discussed baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic produce from day one but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the US and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water ways. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.
Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Getting organic products means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or less use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, less cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find designers entirely devoted to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
