Baby Clothes CHARLOTTE

Back before I had my children, I never really believed I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby fashions we have bought.

I usually go out with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We often meet at El Cancun Mexican Restaurant (which is in CHARLOTTE, NC) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was more interesting because we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic food from the start but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can purchase organic baby outfits online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, less cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Several retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to older children. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
