Baby Clothes CHARLO
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 13-06-2010
Back before I had my baby, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to chat about the latest baby outfits we have purchased.
I generally meet with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest happenings. We usually meet at Countryside Cafe (which is in CHARLO, MT) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really interesting seeing we chatted about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic meals from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the world and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and especially water ways. Organic cotton is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.
You can purchase organic cotton baby apparel online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Buying organic clothes means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find designers completely committed to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to teenagers. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
