Baby Clothes CAMDEN

Before I had my children, I had not thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, chatting to other women about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to chat about the latest baby fashions we have purchased.

I more often than not meet with 4 other mothers, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Win Shing Chinese Food Take Out (which is in CAMDEN, NJ) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was particularly interesting seeing we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby boy organic meals from the start but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or less use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Many makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find designers completely devoted to organic baby clothes. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
