Baby Clothes BUFFALO

Back before I had my baby, I never believed I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a new mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually meet with 4 other parents, once a month, to catch up on the latest new. We generally meet at Carmines (which is in BUFFALO, NY) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly exciting as we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby organic food from day one but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic cotton is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can get soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic products means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Many producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find stores entirely devoted to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
