Baby Clothes BROOKLYN

Back before I had my first child, I never believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to chat about the newest baby fashions we have bought.

I usually get together with 4 other women, once a month, to find out the latest happenings. We generally meet at CHUN Hing Chinese Restaurant Inc (which is in BROOKLYN, NY) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was particularly exciting as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic produce from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from these farms has destroyed the environment and especially water supplies. Organic cotton is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are getting products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and waterways, reduced health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers entirely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
