Baby Clothes BROOKLYN
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 09-09-2009
Before I had my baby, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mother, chatting to other parents about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to chat about the most recent baby fashions we have picked up.
I generally meet with 2 other women, once a week, to find out the latest happenings. We generally meet at Collados Restaurant (which is in BROOKLYN, NY) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was more eye opening because we talked about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic meals from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the world and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has ruined habitats and particularly water ways. Organic produce is grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.
You can get soft organic cotton baby apparel online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Purchasing organic produce means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, reduced cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Several producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find stores entirely devoted to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I do not think that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
