Baby Clothes BICKNELL

Long before I had my first child, I never really thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have purchased.
I usually meet with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest new. We usually meet at Rabbit Valley Bakery & Cafe (which is in BICKNELL, UT) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening as we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic produce from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has ruined the environment and particularly water ways. Organic products are produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.
Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Getting organic clothing means you are buying products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, reduced health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Several retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers solely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I am not saying that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
