Baby Clothes AUBURN HILLS
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 10-06-2008
Back before I had my first child, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other women about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to chat about the most recent baby fashions we have purchased.
I generally go out with 3 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We generally meet at Steak' N Shake (which is in AUBURN HILLS, MI) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was really interesting because we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic meals from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular products in the world and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic products are grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.
You can get organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find companies entirely committed to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.

Hi Kaye,
I happened on to your Blog through a random search of organics in Auburn. However, I live in Auburn, WA.
I have owned a brick & mortar in the neighboring city of Kent (1 yr anniversary next month for my store & blog, Yeah!!) and just launched my website a couple weeks ago (another Yeah!!)
My store and website are devoted to organics for bed, bath and baby (and pet). My baby products are 100% certified organic, except the bamboo items, which you know are not organic, but typically free of pesticides and fertilizers.
There are so many unknowns on the topic of chemicals in textiles, but babies should not be breathing chemicals into their new lungs. Babies playing in the dirt is one thing, but playing in bedding and clothing laden with chemicals is a lifetime of who knows what. Why be sorry later in life when there is another option.
Thank you for promoting a healthy life style through organics for generations to come.
