Baby Clothes ALLIANCE

Back before I had my first child, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to talk about the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually go out with 2 other mothers, once a month, to hear about the latest new. We often meet at Elms (which is in ALLIANCE, NE) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last time was really exciting because we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic meals from the start but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic products are grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are buying products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or less use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, less cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find designers solely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
